Welcome Home to Orchard Glen
Tired of renting?

We're a housing cooperative on 32 beautiful acres in Bloomington, which means our community is owned and cared for by the people who live here. You won't find a landlord making a profit off your rent. Instead, you become a member, with a real voice and a vested interest in where you live.

Why our members love cooperative living:

1. It's more affordable than renting.
You pay monthly carrying charges, not rent. That's just your share of the actual cost to run the community — no profit added. And to make it even easier, your payment includes gas cooking and heating, water / sewer, and trash service.

2. You have a say.
Orchard Glen is governed by an elected Board of Directors made up of members who live here. We make decisions together to keep costs low and our community looking great.

3. No lease required.
Stay for a school year, or stay for years. Without a rigid lease, Orchard Glen is perfect for families, professionals, and students at IU and Ivy Tech just 15 minutes away.

4. You're truly at home.
We take pride in our community's appearance, and it shows. Our members enjoy private patios, playgrounds, basketball courts, and park-like grounds — plus peace of mind with on-site staff to answer questions, handle maintenance repairs quickly, and a dedicated security officer.

5. You're part of a community, not just a complex.
We're on the Bloomington city bus line and just minutes from shopping, grocery stores, and theaters, but it feels quiet, safe, and neighborly.
